Communication Existence
I have started a journey with the new extension of the old city like Calcutta (Kolkata) as an evidence of new chapter of urbanization in India which may unfold multiple issues in context of art, sociology and politics undoubtedly. My video (Communication – Existence) has got all elements from the making a part of a bridge where hardly any human is visible. Through the materials human struggle for existence are manifested while the viewers mind can be associated with their social – cultural space for further questions.
In this video one can see this transient existence which engages a sense of plurality. As roads are so important for our existence in this civilization, same way communications and sharing thoughts are equally important for our living. I would also prefer to install some images through light boxes which I have given here too. Fragments of this new urban site would invite people to rethink about our living in present time. Whole approach of this ‘relational art’ is entirely beholden to the contingencies of its environment and audience. Moreover, this audience is envisaged as a community: rather than a one - to - one relationship between work of art and viewer.
