DRIFTING is more than just a visual experience—it's a mirror reflecting the complexities of human behavior and identity. This hypnotic journey invites you to immerse yourself in an undefined abyss where the boundaries between reality and dreams blur in a graphic, abstract landscape. The music creates a delicate dance between the tangible and the virtual, reflecting an uncertain future. (The realistic sound I recorded was manipulated and filtered, then used as the film's soundtrack to emphasize and define the image.)
Izabella Retkowska (born 1974). As a long-time graphic artist and creative photographer, I have been mainly devoted to digital art since 2011. In my experimental video productions, I go beyond the formal boundaries of traditional audiovisual communication, searching for cinema that takes aesthetic risks. The image sequences create a hypnotic atmosphere and evoke emotional introspection and inner questions about the human mind, identity, memory and are intended to provoke questions about the nature of perception itself. My goal is for the background sound to emphasize and define the image.
