Postcards are memorabilia as photos on your smartphone or videos are.But your brain doesn’t work that way. It re-processes all memory, the older the longer the stranger, turning memory into something intermingle with contemporary experiences. That’s how our brain is functioning. And that’s okay, because this functioning helps coping with traumatic experiences.Nevertheless the processing of the brain, re-interpreting memories of audiovisual, tactical and olfactory origins is affecting in the same way the memory which are precious to us, because they are only positive and are coming from e.g. our vacation in an expensive resort in the Caribbean. As far as psychologists are with their research even this with positive emotion connected memories are worked over and over again, until nothing is left than the images we shot with our smartphones or the images contained in postcards, at least older generations used to send to their friends, relatives and beyond.
