I tried to exploit the potential of sociopolitical, personal and emotional expressions raised over self-ideology and consciousness. In this single channel stop-motion animation video evolves through our unconscious being, colonized by motorization, violence, mechanization and urbanization, deforming the habitual and the mundane. I have attempted to externalize the schizophrenia of contemporary everyday life facing the situation of intolerance of violation act, freedom of speech/expression and injustice against peace. It is our inner-voice to regenerate, re-create, re-question the human ethos for positive changes in social-political attitude in today democratic context.

Towards the end of the Second World War, Enrico Piaggio was driven by the idea of offering the widest possible market a low-cost product. With this idea in mind, the factory at Biella produced a motor-scooter. I found in the body of LML Vespa a strong connection with my nativity and popular image across the globe. I integrated multiple hand gestures with signs and symbols of Indian idols into a single channel animated video. The movement and repeated action explore how the commodification of the industrialised world and human actions impact mundane life. It displays how we are commodified, tortured in mindless conflicts against violation, political intolerance, sexual impulse in urban modernity and the pains of urban development perpetually.

In scvp RESEMBLANCE, I intend to recollect Portuguese colonial rule, trade and the resultant architectural monuments in India. I used three important churches: Basilica of Bom Jesus, The Church of St. Cajetan and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in Goa. The movement is slow paced to tonally glorify the aesthetic content with the image of an advancing ship which epitomizes the Portuguese trade and its offspring of colonial intervention.

Vijayaraghavan.S (b.1981) is an Indian based artist focused on digital art, video art, stop-motion animation, drawing and painting. His core body of works expresses the search of human life and existence of exposing the dual forces or binaries operating in the day-to-day life, and the conceptual ideas of reciprocal visual dialogues of dehumanizing in the urban context. He has nominated for audience and jury award in the 60seconds short film festival organized by the Danish Art Foundation, Copenhagen, Denmark. Honorary Diploma in 2nd International Exhibition of Small Format Art, Lebanon.
