Reactive Ensemble / ECHO52
ECHO52 is a hybrid collective of composers digitally based in Berlin. Established under the auspices of the Delian Academy for New Music, and directed by composer Alexandros Spyrou, the collective aims to leverage the connectivity afforded by modern telecommunications to redefine artistic spaces and territorialisation. Its focus lies in the exploration of the relationship between artificiality and human expression, achieved through the integration of instrumental performance and audiovisual media. ECHO52’s output spans concerts, sound installations, and interdisciplinary performance art. The collective comprises Tobias Fandel (New York/Berlin), Sandra Gonzalez (Buenos Aires), Chung Ching Lam (Hong Kong), Kyungjin Lim, Savannah Agger (both Berlin), and Panagiotis Botzios (Lübeck). Reactive Ensemble (RE) is an electro-acoustic collective from Stuttgart dedicated to reshaping the nature of music creation and performance. Through unlimited experimentation, the ensemble creates innovative formats that challenge traditional music conventions and reimagine how sound, space, and collaboration can be experienced. Active since 2013, RE has developed several programs with different formats and constellations, presenting them on various stages and festivals worldwide, like the New Music Days Festival Danzig, PianoPlusFestival, ZKM Karlsruhe, Musik der Jahrhunderte, Stuttgart, Cité Internationale des Arts Paris, 55è Festival de Pollença, Mallorca, and many others. In 2022, the Musikakademie Rheinsberg selected RE as resident ensemble for its 2022/23 season, giving the ensemble the opportunity to create innovative programs in collaboration with OP:___ duo, exploring the hybridization of performance and concert formats with theatrical elements. Later in 2023, the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists awarded the ensemble with the EFFEA Discovery Residency and in 2024 with the Springboard Residency, which gave the ensemble the opportunity to establish partnerships with the Delian Academy for New Music (Greece), Piksel Festival (Norway), Festival Catalysi (Italy) with the support of the Internationales Digitalkunst Festival (Germany).www.reactive-ensemble.com
